The Retro Cortex was a senior project from my days in the Portland State Graphic Design program. It was a database, that was up and running for a few years, until I ran out of time to maintain it. THis database was intended to be a little like the wikipedia, for all things nostalgic.
The idea was, users could submit a nostalgic item and other users could add photos, drawings or written memories. Items would be organized by year, and category, ( toy, clothing, game etc.).
I drew all of the items by hand, scanned them in and cleaned them up in photoshop.
